When in normal drive hi or low it will just out of all gears with loads if clunking and grinding noises. In dif lock low or high it will drive fine I can occasionally hear a clunk or knock. But it doesn't jump out of gear at all.

yup have all those they are all ok and in place and appear undamaged, the two cables attached to the switch are connected as well ive checked as far back as i can go and the loom seems ok.
