I may have too, was rather hoping to get supplies delivered before tackling this though.

I have been servicing my brakes, and need to replace a brake pipe. I'd like to bite the bullet, and make my own. But, I'm unsure what I need for a D1 (300tdi ABS). Do I need metric or SAE? What fittings should I buy? Copper or Cunife? Any recommendations on where to buy? Thanks

Exhaust manifold gasket changed, some loose studs, but upon reassembly not fix. Glad I did it though as cleaned the intake manifold, and torqued everything up properly. Whilst at it cleaned up the starter motor connections. So, then removed EGR blanking plate, and sure enough it was blowing...

Thanks, I do have an inlet/exhaust manifold gasket, so will try replacing that, and see if that is the issue.

Thanks for the comments. I agree insurance could be an issue, but if declared should be legal so not sure any further problem at the point with fatal accidents/dodo

Mine is 1998 according to the VIN, but was registered in '97. I think they pre-registered cars back then. At this age, I expect many "improvements" were made during its life. I will disassemble my drive chain, and check everything over. Although as mentioned above, it could be wheel balancing.

Just looked again and my rear propshaft is a 4 bolt one, so I guess no donut is needed?

The specs for the shocks say standard height, but up to 2" lift. Had a look at the rear prop shaft, no donut fitted. I'll get one on order now.
