Can anybody confirm a part number for me ........... Im about a zillion miles from home and in 3 ft of snow and minus 10 :) and the Rear UJ joint on the front prop shaft has S**t its pants. Just found a complete shaft brand new on ebay part number FTC4140 (is what they are quoting)...

for reasons totally uninteresting to the story ..... Sunday 1st january, lunchtime, I turns to herself and asks ..... "do you fancy an adventure ....???" It's a '98 2.5 DSE, minding its own business .... last oil change was a year ago .... its well sorted, its on coils and winter tires ...

Given that Ive had P38's for a very long time, have experienced slipped liners, EAS meltdowns and just about every electrical problem known to man ....... and I still love them ....... Current is a 2.5 1998 hse that runs like a swiss watch - Its had constant care and attention, everything...

Just for info ................ it may be irrelvant now but there was a discussion a while back about MOT's and coil spring suspension. I've got coils fitted and it sailed through the new MOT no problems. Ive also got a front steel bar with 2 spots fitted, no probs there either :)

Just read at "tracker" that range rovers are the second most stolen vehicle in the UK (BMW 1 series having top honours) ..... If thats the case, what do they know that we don't ?????? Threads here are full of cars that won't start, open ...... breakdown, fall over ..... and thats with owners...

This is about a '98 2.5 DSE ......... Auto With a cold transmission - initial bite is sluggish, ie takes a handfull of revs to get it moving. With a warm transmission - everything is ok ..... I've always thought this was normal, and have always let transmission oil get warm before I pushed...

Musing with the idea of junking the entire fuel system and installing a big shiny car/manifold/air filter ....... easy enough I'd like to think ..... but this is a 4.6 HSE ('98) and I'd guess there will be a myriad of problems to over come ..... Has any one evr done it ....?????
