Musing with the idea of junking the entire fuel system and installing a big shiny car/manifold/air filter .......

easy enough I'd like to think ..... but this is a 4.6 HSE ('98) and I'd guess there will be a myriad of problems to over come .....

Has any one evr done it ....?????

Real Steel indeed .....

the full story ................................

I've already re-mortgaged the house and sold the kids to keep this thing running in the years I've owned it ..... I'm not shy when it comes to spending cash. I just feel that getting rid of it would be like giving up and letting it win........

I've got an idea that underneath all the crap. there's a really good piece of kit waiting to get out .......

Fitted a new block 2 years ago (liner thing you know) ..... and now I've a crazy notion of ....

1) fitting new heads ....... (around £1000 plus minus with gaskets)
2) fitting a big shiny carburator with shiny inlet manifold and even shinier air filter
3) fitting a simple throaty exhaust system without cats
4) fitting an ignition system thats simple and works
5) finding a system that lets me junk all the electronics and still operates the transmission

I dream of trouble free motoring, of turning the key and hearing it roar into life .... of living a life without beeps and error messages ......

Ive already trashed the EAS ... replaced it with a manual system that I just love, lets me have a ride height I like instead of deciding on one that suits its mood.

Is any of this doable or should I just check into the local nut house ...?
