Turns out it was the bottom turbo hose that had come off -- bit fiddly to get at but got it sorted -- thanks for the help fellas

Thanks for the answers-- I'll have a look at the hoses in the morning -- if I can't sort it I suppose I'll have to drive it carefully until Monday and hope its okay

Thanks I'll give it a try-- if it's gone is it still possible to drive it or is that a bad idea? The garage I use is shut till monday and I have to get to work

Hi, driving home tonight I accelerated then heard a whoosh kind of noise from the engine-the power dropped off and when I accelerate now the engine whines and there's no power -- I suspect the turbos blown but I'm only guessing Any advice would be appreciated It's a 96 300tdi disco 1 by the way

Lessons in patience is a good way of putting it. Borrowed a friends car the last time it went wrong, a micra. i was grateful for the transport but couldn't wait to get the Disco back.
