hullo, i didn't sillicone it. What I did was pop the seal out round the bottom corners and then carefully put them back. I also cleaned all round the tailgate where the seal connects with it to ensure there's a good seal. It seemed to cure it pretty much. Still gets a little damp on the boot...

Tried again, same thing happened. Cable popped out of clamp and p i n g snap goes the plastic clip with the spring again in exactly the same place. I'm thinking that the poor old 15 year old clamps are just too coroded to happily hold the cable nipple in place. so . . . I get a refund...

ok cool, cheers. Took it all to bits yesterday ready to replace one cable and discovered that all three cables were shagged. Have bought the kit which comes with the motor wheel as the spindle looks fine. fingers crossed

I've taken the rear tailgate to bits as the regulator cable has snapped. The window is now held up with two bits of wood till I can fix it. I really should have a pig in the back and a bailer twine belt with that kind of approach to landy mechanics.

yup I've watched a couple of videos now and I think doing it with new specific cables and new pulleys etc would make a much better job of it. thanks for your input

Today I cursed it because the bastard drivers door has stopped unlocking with the key fob. I intend to get to and grease up the mechanism as I can still hear it trying to work. /meh
