I think my D2 suffers overboost also. It accelerates well until 3500rpm and then there's a big jolt and a loss of power. It only last for a half a second but it's infuriating. Red plug is clean, new MAF fitted, no fault codes on Nanocom.
Any ideas?
This thread is WAY above my head but I'll tell you what I do know. I unplugged my MAF today and took the car for a spin. Guess what? Yup, that's right. Bugger all difference.
Interesting comments. Nanocom told me that there was a problem with air flow so I replaced the MAF. FOUR MONTHS LATER, same bloody problem. I think I'll disconnect it in the morning and go for a spin.
Spent last weekend away in the Disco on the West Coast. Didn't have the time/skill/patience to build a platform so just took out the rear seats instead. I'm 5'10 and it was still a neat fit. Opted for an inflatable mattress which was very comfy but I might invest in one that is shaped to fit the...
MAF sensor fitted in seconds. Made a massive difference to the car. Manifold bolts on the EGR appear to have welded themselves to the car so my blanking kit has been put to one side for now.
Well, I'm a total novice so I was just going on the comments above. I assumed that as I was grotting about the engine bay, I may as well do a bit of housework?
Avtur, or as I used to know it, F34, is a rough variant of Kerosene which 'should' run your diesel engine though I would tread carefully. One thing is for sure, your EGR valve will be nice and clean afterwards.
Thank you David. Did the job today. Works perfect. Used a couple of swear words getting the top screw back in and I just used a wee bit of Vaseline to keep it nice and smooth.
This forum is brilliant!
