soon will be the time to go on tour around bonnie scotland again :) ... i love that place.

Last year and the year before we toured in the freelander, but it got a bit of a pain trying to find places to wild camp where we could setup our tent.

Ideally we would like to just drive somewhere, pull over, get in the back and get into bed.

So, the plan is to build a temporary sleep system for the back, that can be installed / removed easily.

Maybe box sections (that can also be storage) that clip together, a sort of box jigsaw.

Has anyone got any pictures of descent in car sleep systems?

we were thinking about getting a soof tent, although they are simple to put up, we would prefer to just get in the back and get into bed.

Honestly, I just planned putting the seats down and putting an air mattress in there. Cheap, quick and easy.

I am making a drawer at the same height as the rear seats folded down only one stage, so I can lay down flat. I am quite tall and can just not lay on the floor when the seats are folded completely

Spent last weekend away in the Disco on the West Coast. Didn't have the time/skill/patience to build a platform so just took out the rear seats instead. I'm 5'10 and it was still a neat fit. Opted for an inflatable mattress which was very comfy but I might invest in one that is shaped to fit the car.
