    2.25 diesel not starting

Hello, I will prefix this with that I'm asking this on behalf of my friend who has limited internet access. I myself have the 2.25 petrol so am not versed enough in the diesel to offer him help other than I would ask online for ideas. He has sent me the following; The vehicle is a 1980 Series 3...

Series III Engine Cut out after exhaust adjustment

You need to adjust the idle screw on the side of the carb. Here is a pic from the 'green bible' of the relevant part (assuming that you have a zenith 36IV) - http://i.imgur.com/B76t9xc.jpg :)

What have you done to your Landie today.

Finished fitting the new floor/supports and started making new front mounts bits where the old ones have corroded away.. Album of progress so far is here - Tub repair - Imgur :)

    So.. Lancaster vs Flux!

When I asked for a quote for the series with AF the lowest they would go was £1800 o.O (have had similar issues with them for my 'normal' car), I got it insured for £200 through Norton insurance.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Did a second coat on the chassis. Wore my overalls so I wouldn't get POR-15 on my arms this time.. Instead got some on my face (some specks).. such is life. >.>

    Station Wagon?

I got a letter from my insurer (norton insurance) to say they can't offer me a renewal as their underwriter has changed their policy and I'm now too young (I'm 24) to be insured by them. Which is nice.. I didnt really want to have to faff around finding new quotes.. D:

    which to get?

I vastly over estimated the braking power of my series the first time I drove it, which was approching a roundabout on the drive home from picking it up. My friend nearly went into the back of me as he didnt think I was stopping. :p

    Yet another 2a rebuild thread

Paint the chassis with por-15, fix the tub (all the bolt holes have corroded off pretty much), weld/fabricate bulkhead bits (splashed out on a mig welder, tis going to be a learning curve since my friend did the stick welding of the chassis), change shocks, new front swivels, new wiring harness...

    Yet another 2a rebuild thread

Looks good! I wish I had a garage to work in, my partial restore has been postponed by about a month due to rain. Can't paint in the wet. :(

    Rear tub repairs.

After some research it looks like I'm going to go down the riveting some new bits on using aluminum sheet. Are pop rivets strong enough or should I use traditional ones? :)

    Rear tub repairs.

I would prefer to repair if I can, since I can't easily collect a 'new' tub. :/
