creates a vacuum in the cooling system, sucks all the air out, then sucks your coolant in - theoretically no chance of an air block in the system, which is on my list of things to try before big bills.

And so following on from another thread, is it necessary to drain every last drop of coolant (ie from block too) or just radiator, before using an airline purge and fill kit? The instructions look like theyve been translated to greek then chinese then back to english.

Indeed, i fear gas must be the only option left! Got a purge and fill kit today, will try it to see if it makes any difference. The annoying thing is i could plod along the quite roads here all day, but as soon as i go up steep hill its a killer. Will need to just live with it for another week...
