Sorry this is probably something that has been asked before. Battery is good but when I turn on the ignition it just goes click. Is this starter motor ir solenoid?

My point is that although my 72 series III has defender mirrors on the door hinge it also has holes on the wings for mirrors like his.

Surely the early series 3's had wing not door mirrors.

If the belt was so loose it wasn't turning the alternator then it wouldn't charge the battery but this is unlikely. To tension the belt slacken off the bolt at base of the alternator and loosen the bolt on the slide on the side and simply move it back to tighten the belt then tighten bolts...
