Any update? I've got a 03TD4 thats doing something very similar. As soon as I get to about 52mph, the power just drops out. Fuel filter is my next little project to see if that helps. Strange when it does it, there's no engine warning light or fault codes showing up through the OBD.

Just to feedback, the car is so much better. I've got better resp[once from the accelorator at low speeds, and fuel consumption went from 480mile to 520 miles per tank. Well chuffed.

What sort of expensive mistake?? Thats the whole point of me coming on here for advice is not to make any expensive mistakes.

Just fitted an Allisport EGR Bypass. (Cost £57) Only took me about an hour to fit and I'm glad I did as the valve was well gunked up. Car's got less than 60k miles on the clock so was surprised to see so much build-up in there. Got a 100 mile run tomorrow, so will feedback after how it gets on. G

OK, think I'm getting somewhere, is it the 20amp Fuse in the engine compartment fuse box? When you say remove it for a few seconds, is this with the enging running or not??? Thanks, sorry for being such a pain.

Hi Mad Hat Man, My FBH hasn't worked since I bought the car, but my fuse 5 is for the starter motor??? Is it the set of fuses inside the glove box under the steering wheel you are talking about? I think I've found 3 fuses so far that say they are fuse 5.

Loving my Frelander, just a small issue though, when I'm steady doing about 50-55mph I get a sudden drop in power. Almost feels like the fuel is suddenly cutting out but it's only about a split second then the power comes back. Just hope it's not something that's going to get worse. Anyone got...

Sorry to say this guys, but this is a hoax. It's doing the rounds on Facebook e.t.c. Probably someones sick idea of a joke or just another bash at the 4x4 community.

Can anyone answer me please if fitting an EGR bypass will increase or decrease my MPG??? With about 1000 miles per week, by fuel costs are a little high, so want to do something to reduce costs. (But still keep it as a 4x4). Thanks, as always, your views are appreciated. Gordon
