Can anyone answer me please if fitting an EGR bypass will increase or decrease my MPG??? With about 1000 miles per week, by fuel costs are a little high, so want to do something to reduce costs. (But still keep it as a 4x4).

Thanks, as always, your views are appreciated.

It should make it better on fuel if driven exactly the same as before but what tends to happen is people use the new found power.

I agree completely with angeloc & hippo.

After I stopped 'playing' with the new found power I did actually get about 3mpg more.

This applied to all the other power improvements I have made.

All in all the EGR bypass, the new silicone hoses to fix leaky rubber ones, and a Synergy2 have raised the mpg to around 43 from the 36 I used to get commuting to work. It also pulls stronger from 1500 to 2000 rpm which is great for off-road.

I still have to control the urge to make full use of the performance, but meaningful economies can be made.

what setting have you got your synergy on ?

I have at least one Injector down and fluffing so am using more fuel - 33mpg motorway at 70mph+

I have just switched mine off because of the injector as the Synergie was making the injector fault worse. Before this I used to use the Synergie on setting 3 with Bosch MAF and lately 7 with Piersburg MAF
