Advertised on ebay so scuse the link. Wheels have the odd mark but are pretty good. The winter tyres are Sunny Snowmasters. Read is legal and all 4 have a few thousand miles left in them. The summer set are Marshal Road Ventures and have another season left in them. They are 225/55/17s...

No idea, I'm afraid... a local garage did them... All five sanded and painted, tyres fitted and balanced and wheels fitted to car. £120. I didn't think that was three bad!

Epicuser - I've only had them on for less than 24 hours, so I cannot comment on fuel economy. I can't imagine it making a massive difference. On the road, the handling is no different from the Marshal Road Ventures on the 225/55/17s that I had on before... if not slightly better. Reference...

Trouble is they're non factory size tyres so no recommended pressures. Look great though especially on the black rims - in my opinion.

I've just upgraded to BF Goodrich ATs. They are 215/70/16s. Put 32 psi in all round but they look a bit low... feel ok driving but look low particularly on the front. What do folk recommend as tyre pressures for this size? Car is otherwise a standard 2005 TD4.

Sorry if being thick but by "all 4 matching" I take it you just mean all 4 are new tyres and are identical? Also I take it your car is standard? I have 4 identical tyres, yes.

My concern is that they will rub on either the plastics in the wheel arch or just not revolve??? I'm no mechanic - hence the reason I have shyed away from Defenders (as well as cost) but I am starting to worry. I'm sure I read on here that people had that size and it was fine. But looking back...

I've just sent my second hand 16" wheels to be refurbed and purchased a full set of new BFG tyres to go on them. BUT... They look rather big. The car (Freelander 1 "55" plate) currently has 225/55/17s I've bought 215/70/16s Am I going to have problems? Are they too big?

If you've changed your mind, you can refund me the money if you like. There are others on ebay and breakers yards for around £120 to £150 some with tyres included, so I am fairly confident I can get some for similar money. I don't want you to feel ripped off.

Next query is tyres... I want to go taller without needing to make other alterations - eg lift kits etc. Could I use 205/70/16s or could I go even bigger than that?
