    1999 Td5 Hardtop 50k miles

For sale, my 1999 Td5 90 Hardtop, Caladonian blue 50600 miles. Unmarked Techno cloth seats, 2 in the front, 2 in the back. Has a few dings here and there, a couple of spots where the paint needs cheering up over the rear arches, (paint included) and the rear door is going a bit, but overall its...

    New Leak :( :( :(

Somewhere on the old Landyzone is the official Land-Rover leak detection manual, this helped me cure a few leaks on mine. Also a chap who's sourced dumdum, got it for a morris minor I think:scratching_chin:

    Landrover 90 problem

More than likely a lift pump problem. Cheap and easy to replace, I'd start there if I was you.

    Expansion tank

Coolant always at the half tank line? No hiss when removing the cap? That'll be the expansion tank splitting on the seam, mine did and it was on the side that's tucked under the wing. It was my MOT dude that spotted it. Have your coolant system pressure tested, or just replace the tank. It may...

    My New Project - 1991 Defender 110 200Tdi

Welcome to the world of Landies! Looks like you have a the start of a decent project, as with bikes you will get to the point of " why did I start this again?" but with more tea/fags/beer and the wealth of good advise on landyzone, you'll be fine. (just don't ask about tyre sizes). Good luck...

    transfer box TD5

Did the same swap on my 90. Lumpy bit went in the bin (I imagine it's damping/counter weight) no probs since. First gear is fine, I'm on 235/85-16's, Grabber At. Though I've not done any towing, I couldn't say how it is with a big load on.

    1970 series 2a anyone?

Never fear chums, I'm sure an enterprising enthusiast (robbing barsteward) will soon rebuild that with a Td5 engine, Td5 bulkhead, Td5 chassis, Td5 body and Td5 transmission. Hey presto, in a few short days fleabay will be sporting another "Tax free restored original 2a series 90 jeep 4x4" !

    Window rattle fix

I used little rubber wedges that were made for the job. Even had a hole in the end for a bit of string. Have a look in your nearest 'proper' hardware shop.

    Front wing skin removal.

Thanks for the advise pressbreak! Took a little longer in total this weekend (3hrs) but me best mate turned up to "assist" with a case of cold Stella's. Cheers again. :beer2:

    Front wing skin removal.

I've read Busters guide on wing removal (cheers Buster) but I'm just replacing the outer skin. Is it possible to take just the outer skin off and leave headlamp/top skin on the 90 and replace, or is that too much arse-ache, and take the whole thing off? Cheers.

    Defender TD5 Problems

Mine does the same "off we go then" leap as well, but it seems only to happen when it's been shut off for a while. Ie over night or at work, pop in the shop for a packet of fags and it's fine. I'm wondering if it's a sticky turbo, as the shaft has a bit of play.By the way the power comes in, it...

    Defender TD5 trouble with gears/clutch

It's not easy to tell, unless there is obvious fluid loss. Master cyl will be coming down the pedal or bulkhead, slave cyl will be bottom of clutch/bell housing. If you can't see evidence of fluid, I'd take a punt and change the slave cyl first, it's got clutch plate dust to contend with and...

Smitten With a 90 On eBay...

It could have a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12, but it would still not counteract the crapness of the rest of it.

Smitten With a 90 On eBay...

I looks like a type of load bed liner/coating, I've seen it used on Westcoast Customs on Discovery (tv channel not landy). They built some ****y pick up truck with fold out sides and stuff, parking for a motor crosser on the back. Sprayed it all over in this thick, self healing, load bed...

Advice please on dealing with a sheared manifold bolt

Decent cobalt drill bits, we use Dormer at work, and decent easy outs ie Snap-On, correct cutting speed and lubricant will pop that out no trouble. But that's easy for me to say as I have kit and workshop to do this. Bud I think your best bet is to whip the manifold off and take it to a garage...

    'New' Defender cabs, bit cramped?

I'm talking about tratters of the Puma type here, with the modern dash. Work have a 57 plate 110 cherry-picker on hire at the mo, so I bagsie a drive. Bugger me that's a squeeze once you're in! I know truck cabs are a bit tight any way, but with the 'new' fancy dash looming out at you, there's...
