    fixed it ! it was the spacers! thinking about Nodge68 s comment about centres, the wheels went over the centres very neatly but without the spacers they tighten right down over the centre now. (ive said centres too much ) took it a run and not a wobble to be had !!! brilliant thanks guys now...

    yes nuts and centres are all correct i already had steel wheels on but i do have wheel spacers on the front that hold them out from the centre a little . that might make some difference, ill try that as i would rather keep this wheels if possible

    they do fit over the central hub neatly, seems strange that they are so bad to balance, they weren't second hand

    Well ive had it a couple of weeks now and im liking having a land rover again ! needs a wheel bearing and the rear diff mounts are shot just managing to stop it smelling like a farmyard inside now but its all good just now

    well i went to see the 2005 td4 commercial yesterday and i liked it ! i put a small deposit down it was a mess as in not clean which is fine, everything works, full service history, tyres (on steel wheels) more worn at front than back will probably replace all of them anyway. plastic sun roof ...

    Thanks guys! Great info, im hoping to get a test drive on saturday i know it has a full service history but dont know about the VCU if needed this a diy job i have a decent sized workshop. Again i really appreciate the info :):):)

    hi thanks whats the thinking on spacers to lift or rotate the axle i have friends at a machine shop who can make some for me. I am not bothered about lifting the suspension just thought parabolics were the way to go
