    main beam prob

    have a slight problem with the main beam on my 2000my 2.5dse, dip beam comes on as normal then when you pull the stalk back for main it just flashes the lights and wont stay on main, i tried another, identical, stalk and no difference? is there a relay or fuse or summat i've missed?

    2l L series not starting(not the usual s**t)

    it seems to be that the only cure for the struggling to start issues on the L series is to change the FIP belt and get the timing spot on? i've tried the usual heating the glowplugs from the battery and that didnt work and i read thru the threads on here.

    a few questions....

    how long should the glow plug light stay on in a L-series diesel? mines on for 3 secs but if i test the plug on the bench it takes 13-15sec to glow. i'm struggling to start it from cold in the mornings or if left for more than a few hours, i tried priming it this morning by squeezing the bulb...

    following on from my " to re-sync or not " thread, i got a new drivers door latch/lock/blackbox from a breaker near me, when it arrived its somewhat different to mine though..... the one i took out of the drivers door looks like the one in the door lock replacement link in that it has wires...

    noisy throttle pedal....

    i've a 1998 xedi and yesterday the throttle pedal started making what can best be described as a high pitched hissing sound on a steady throttle, if you press the pedal or release the pedal it stops..... its definately not the intercooler and associated pipework as it only does it on a steady...

    rear wash wipe problem

    the rear wash wipe and wiper along with the heated rear screen are not working, i have power to the switches and the switches make a circuit when pressed, i have swapped the relays in the rear around and nothing works? oh its a 98 FL1 diesel if that helps! fuses are all ok as well.

    blend motor bodge

    the passenger side is stuck on cold all the time apparently the motor stalled on re-callibration. me being a tight arse was wondering if i could pull out the blend motor and just jam the thing so its blowing warm all the time?

    L series timing belt tooth

    just gone to order a timing belt kit from my parts man and he asked me do i need a 112 or 114 tooth one its a 1998 L series diesel. do i need to do the water pump as well or just belt and tensioners?? thanks!

    p38 dse not starting...

    right then the boss was driving the rangey today when she pulled up at her sisters it stalled and now wont restart. its a 2000my auto diesel, its stalled on me twice in the last month which is starting to worry me... anyhoo i went out and tried to start it this evening i'm getting no messages on...

    mis firing diesel....

    starts and idles clean and if you go easy on the throttle it seems ok but when you drive it normally it misfires like mad and wont rev thru it. the engine management light comes on as well when its missing, i have good fuel pressure at the filter (which is 2 weeks old maybe 600 miles) battery...

    so far in my third week of ownership its had a full set of discs and pads, new keyfob batterys, needs an airbag on the rear, and i got a call from the wife saying it ground to a halt in town this morning engine everything dead!! she turned the key off and on and it restarted saying gearbox fault...

    No 4 injector question

    number 4 inj on my p38 is wet and leaking so the side of the block is wet with diesel, are they the same on the bmw 525 tds/omega as theres a bimmer scrapped near me and i can have the injectors for free! is this a common thing or is it likely to be a seal that i can just swap out? ta mutchly vince
