noisy throttle pedal....

i've a 1998 xedi and yesterday the throttle pedal started making what can best be described as a high pitched hissing sound on a steady throttle, if you press the pedal or release the pedal it stops..... its definately not the intercooler and associated pipework as it only does it on a steady throttle. any ideas where to start looking?

Are you sure you haven't got a snake hiding in your footwell
