Whats the required timing setting for a 2.25L , have a Zenith carb copy on and eleccy distributor

have got 100psi across the pots, seems even. Does it need a rebuild now? It is down on power, blows very small amount smoke. Starts easy. cheers DW.

Hello all. Need to replace the spigot bush and was wondering what the best way is to do it. is there any prep I should do to the bush before fitting? Soak in oil ?

Gearbox makes a fairly loud rattling sound in 4th gear on the overun. Remnants of the same in 3rd gear., gearbox has new bearings, new mainshaft and gears. 1st and 2nd seem quiet.

When looking at a Land Rover points distributor, what determines a worn out distributor? What should I be looking for? Is it the movement of the cam-on the shaft? Are they repairable or should a new one be purchased if the old one is worn? :alien:

Was doing a look around, found brake fluid under the drivers side wing. looked at the brake and clutch master cylinder and couldnt see much in the way of leakage. Is this common that when the master cylinder is cactus that it leaks under the guard? Any info appreciated.

On the choke cable there is a plastic unit there with 2 wires coming out. Can someone tell me what that is and what it does? Something to do with the yellow light on the dash! Choke thingo. :D

Have reconditioned the gearbox, has new mainshaft. bearings and new gears. Problem is the 4th gear makes a grumble marbly noise and is a bit vibrational most noticeable when coasting along. Seems to quieten down when accelerating. The other gears are working fine. No jumping out of gear...
