As header really, got to swap out my freelanders ("w" 2000) gearbox, is it a pain in the arse? anything i should be looking out for thats gonna bite me later?? Thanks for any good advice you can give. Paul

Anyone know if a 2001 rover 75, 1.8 petrol, cylinder head is a match for my 2000 1.8 freelander head???

Don't think its gonna be going anywhere at the moment, looks like i missed a crack in the cylinder head during the rebuild and i think ive got to do it all again!!!! Anyone know if a 2001 rover 75 1.8 head will do the job??

Just done the same job on my landy and i have to say that when i started mine after the strip down it sounded like a bag of spanners and a trolly jack had been left inside it. But it did settle down and now runs nice and quiet, its just a shame that after having the head skimmed new 20thou shim...

I think the the saying is.... fools rush in where angel fear etc etc etc, IVE brought it, but i have to say that it was a fantastic bargain, so there is money in the pot!! So! i am expecting to spend money on it, done the head gasket and its running as sweet as a nut now, and ive got to go...

So! its new and upgraded hinges as well as a new propshaft!! :D

Just a quick hello to the group from sunny Gatwickish. I have a Freelander 1 with issues, but i got it cheap with a head gasket gone, but with some hard work and a few new spanners the engine now runs as sweet as a nut!!:D But it seems like everyone hates the 1.8 petrol!!! lol Paul

....fuel saving fact or is it just a way of hiding the fact that the transfer box is shagged??? Also how do you tell if the transfer box is shagged if the propshaft has been removed? Thanks:) Paul
