    TD4 Fluttering Noise >3500rpm

Thanks Ron, I thought it might be something like that. I know a tiny bit about Petrol engine turbos, but need to read up on how the diesel system works.

    TD4 Fluttering Noise >3500rpm

I've recently noticed a fluttering noise when my revs go over 3500rpm (I know, I know, it isn't good to thrash a hippo!). Hard to describe really, but it only comes in when you wind it up. Do doosals have somekind of pressure relief valve on their turbo's? Could this be what I'm hearing? Any...

    Car damaged during MOT

Some advice please......anyone.....! I had my FL MOT'd a couple of days back and today have noticed a dink in the trailing edge of the drivers door. I know it wasn't there when I took it in, and I know I haven't done it since, but I can't prove it was them  . The damage is the kind...

    Pressure Washer Recommendations

No we don't!!! That doesn't help me :( Seen a Karcher k3.91 in B&Q for a hundred squids (110bar, 390 litres per hour) .... looks like a decent spec, and is 50 squids cheaper than I can find on the net. Thanks for the tip on the stop valve... I'll get rid of mine. I'm also in for a bit of...

    Pressure Washer Recommendations

Cheers for th info. Just been to B&Q and there are some good offers.... I'm sorely tempted by their own brand as the spec cheet is better than the Karcher.... but it won;t be a Karcher and will probably fall apart in no time at all! They have got the 110 for £99.... might give it a shot.

    Pressure Washer Recommendations

( sorry for cross-posting, but 'General' section weren't being very helpful! :D ) Am now getting sick of forking out a fiver a time to get rid of the cr*p generated by a days 'softroading'. I've got a budget of up to £150 for a home pressure washer. I'm not fussed about soap etc as I can do...

    Jet Wash Recommendations??

Am now getting sick of forking out a fiver a time to get rid of the cr*p generated by a days 'softroading'. I've got a budget of up to £150 for a home jetwash. I'm not fussed about soap etc as I can do that by hand.... I just want decent enough 'umph' to get rid of the dirt from underneath the...

    small box reciever under dash

Is yours a TD4 with a fuel burning heater? There is an option to have a remote control to fire up the heater... could be the receiver from that?

TD4 fog lights and webasto pre heater?

Don't think it can be done (dunno if this is because there's no space for both, or because the radiated heat from the heater will melt your fog lights!!)

    Freelander FBH webasto

Erm.... I've looked at it lots (and thought about it)!!! Still not bought the fuel line, and had 'issues' with the hoses I got from ebay (naemly a great big split in a 'new' hose!) Will keep you posted.

    Water in Boot Storage Box

I wouldn't be surprised if this is common on 'new' used FLs. When I complained about mine being soaked, it turned out that the dealer had wet-vac'd the boot when they bought it, and it had been sat on the forecourt for a month and regularly washed/cleaned. I ran about with it propped open until...

Oil Service - What bits (& Genuine or not!)

I've had my FL since 20k miles (2004 td4). I'm now mid-service intervals (30k) and I'm keen to do regular oil changes. Having previously owned only small petrol engined cars before, I've a couple of questions that I thought you good people could help with (some are obvious I know, but I reckon...

    Orange light coming on

Just got back from the dealers. They checked my ECU fault log, and my failure was due to a CAN bus (communication between computers) error. This can happen intermittently.... its a bit like your home pc, turn it off turn it on again and everything is happy. He did say that if it keeps happening...
