( sorry for cross-posting, but 'General' section weren't being very helpful! :D )

Am now getting sick of forking out a fiver a time to get rid of the cr*p generated by a days 'softroading'.

I've got a budget of up to £150 for a home pressure washer. I'm not fussed about soap etc as I can do that by hand.... I just want decent enough 'umph' to get rid of the dirt from underneath the sills and in the arches.

Any recommendations on makes/models/features to look for etc... I don't want to buy one only to find I can spit harder!!

Thanks in advance.
James

i bought a little karcher thing from b an q cant remember how much but def under fifty quid. its the smallest one they do i think, a little yellow jobby. Its ideal fer the rover, patio, dog etc.....its got loads of pressure and was dead cheap. i think its a decent make too....

Ditto fatrovers post about the Karcher I got the mid range one about 130 ??squids
But then agen the 130 could be the model

Just dunt expect em to be as good as the carwash ones;)

thinkin about it, i'm sure the one i got was half price or somethin similar...i thimk b an q are still doin the offer...i'll ave a look in the shed when i let the dog out for a **** in a bit an tell you the model number....

any Karcher will do the job yu want - its not as if yu are taking off hard built up grime - the mud cud still be soft - and yu dont want a really high pressure else yu can force the water into places yu dont want it

sorry fer the delay... mines is a karcher 110. i've just bin usin it on the truck and its grand !!:) :)

Cheers for th info. Just been to B&Q and there are some good offers.... I'm sorely tempted by their own brand as the spec cheet is better than the Karcher.... but it won;t be a Karcher and will probably fall apart in no time at all!

They have got the 110 for £99.... might give it a shot.

I would reccommend it.. ive used it loads on all of our cars, the patio etc , its really neat and portable and the build quality is great.. i looked at the own brand ones but i've heard their ****e and fall apart dead easy...theres loads of pressure and cleans my muddy ser 3 no problem at all....males a grand job of wheels and paths too !!!

Just a useful tip - If you are connecting it to the garden tap using your normal garden hose that has one of those 'Stop' connectors at the end i.e. the ones that allow you to remove the sprinkler and fit other attachments without having to turn the water off first, then get rid of it and replace the fitting with a standard type. This is coz the jet washer is 'pulling' the water through the hosepipe and if you have one of the auto stop connectors attached the water does still get through but at a lower pressure due to the internal lock being sucked into position by the jetwasher. I thought my el cheapo washer was crap until I realised and changed the hose fitting!

My soninlaw works at Stihl Belgium (he's IT manager there) so when I need garden tools I ask for a Viking machine to borrow (sorry to test), when a chainsaw is needed it's a Stihl I can have and if a pressure washer is required it's a Whapp. (Three brands of topquality, not costing me a nickle to test(use), lucky me .....);) :)

We like willo !:p

even more than we did before ;) :D

No we don't!!! That doesn't help me :(

Seen a Karcher k3.91 in B&Q for a hundred squids (110bar, 390 litres per hour) .... looks like a decent spec, and is 50 squids cheaper than I can find on the net.

Thanks for the tip on the stop valve... I'll get rid of mine. I'm also in for a bit of plumbing, as my current tap is fed from a 'screw-through-the side-of-the-pipe' kit. I don't reckon that this'll give enough water. Will put a t-piece in so I get mains pressure at the jet wash end.
