    She's Gone

Hi All, I have traded my TD4 in for a VW polo that should be cheaper to run. I'd like to say thanks to everybody at Landyzone for providing such a good humored site and a brilliant resource. Maybe I'll be back, see what Landrover do with the LRX in a few years. Dave

    Rubber Gaiter For IRD Prop-shaft

Hi Guys and Girls, I need a new rubber gaiter for the 'CV' type joint where the front to back prop shaft come out of the IRD. According to my local small independent local garage, this gaiter is only available from Land rover with a new prop-shaft at about £300. Any idea where is can get a...

    £415 Road Tax ! ?

If anybody thinks that it will make the blindest bit of difference, someone has started a petition; Petition to: Remove the unfair and unjust retrospective Vehicle Execise Duty levy (back to 2001 year vehicles) as announced in the Budget on 12/3/08. I'll sign, but I think the idiots in...

    Reconditioned VCU's

The inside edge of the tyre looks to be more worn, and the tread blocks are wearing unevenly front to rear on the same tyre (they are now slightly wedge shaped). I haven't tried swapping the tyres, will try at the weekend. Dave

    Reconditioned VCU's

Good idea Batman. With fail in "No Drive" way, I assume you mean that it just spins. That shouldn't bugger up the IRD should it?

    Reconditioned VCU's

Thanks for the quick response. I took her out for a bit of a run this afternoon with some tippex on the VCU. The two line have moved apart, so the unit isn't seized. I know that this isn't a conclusive test, but I think I'll keep an eye on it until the next service and get the local garage...

New cluth 3 weeks ago now difficult to engage gears

Take a look at; Land Rover Parts Shop Mine is the cheaper one. I paid about £120 from a main dealer. (I don't have anything to do with Land-rover-parts-shop.com and I have never bought anything from them. They just have a convenient site for this thread.) In future if I have the clutch...

New cluth 3 weeks ago now difficult to engage gears

These were two separate problems. With the master cylinder, the clutch needed pumping to get it to work and it was only coming up a few cm. After reading the various posts around here, I took a bit of a flyer and changed the master cylinder which cured the problem. Then 6 weeks later, I pushed...

New cluth 3 weeks ago now difficult to engage gears

Hi Jon, I'm still waiting for the bill. If it doesn't arrive by Saturday, I'll pop into the garage and sort it. On mine the clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there, but the clutch didn't disengage, a fairly good sign that the hydraulic fluid wasn't in the system any more. I replaced...

New cluth 3 weeks ago now difficult to engage gears

On my 2001 TD4 the slave cylinder is inside the gearbox housing. I had a new one fitted last week, but I am still waiting for the bill. The labour will probable be similar to having a new clutch. Dave.

    TD4 Turbo Cutting Out

Hi, What country are you in? SWBO has been cleaning up and I can't find the receipt with a part number on. I'll have a look on the weekend. Try asking your local Land-rover shop for a TD4 Boost Control Valve. Dave

Replacing Front Fuel Pump TD4 2000

Take a look at this thread. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/td4-turbo-cutting-out-40686.html In my case it was a £50 control valve that stopped the fins adjusting. Dave

    TD4 Clutch

Hi Guys and Girls, I'm have a little problem with the clutch on my 2001 TD4. When I turned into my street this evening, I pushed the clutch pedal down and it stayed there without disengaging the clutch. Kind of scary when you unexpectedly pull into a parking space with the power still on...

    Td4

Hi Feng, Check the blower connector. Its on the bottom of the blower housing, drivers side. Mine has a habit of dropping far enough to break the connection, but not far enough to fall off. Dave
