Datatek you were right! It wasn't even the gearbox that was giving the vibration......:oops::oops::rolleyes: It was a very badly worn water pump :D New pump fitted and is good now.... Anyone looking for a flywheel and torque converter o_O:cool:

Hi guys As it says what plugs do you use on your p38. I have always used BPR6es on my 2002 4.6 with lpg but found some others on the web called Accuspark, they seem to have triple spark. Has anyone used them, if so, what did you think of them?

Not sure if the flex plate is cracked but thought if I was dropping the gearbox to check it I might as well have one to hand in case it is the problem, it didn't cost that much, I only got a used one :o Still not looked at it yet, I have to many appointments at the hospital at the moment :(

Thanks for the reply Datatek I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement flywheel and flex plate, will update thread once fitted and confirm whether it's cured the problem or not.

Have a look at the water pump, see if you can see any water staining on it or/and drips of water, also check to see if you are losing water in the system i.e. look in expansion chamber see if its below max mark. If the answer is 'yes' the you will need a new water pump. Hope thsis might shed...

I would leave well alone, by the time you get it home, repair the body, paint it and then sort out limp mode and suspension, you may as well put the extra cost on another model thats not knackered :cool:

Mates P38 4.6 with thor engine needs a water pump, just wondered if any brands are better than others, he was offered a Bearmach for £27. What do you guru's think?? :)

Sorry but you do get a fine, after all most modern cars have very large bottles and warning lights to say it's low. If it comes on stop at a petrol stn and fill it.......Simples!! ;)

One thing I would recommend is to change the battery. The guy who had it has probably put another one on, keeping the big heavy duty for himself!! The last thing you want to see is the message board lighting up with all sorts of problems that don't really exsist (eg: traction failure, gearbox...

Hi Clarky130, Not too sure which head unit it is. It's just the standard manufacturers that comes with it when new. I do know it's the Harman Karden type with Satnav (the car is a 51 plate 4.6 vogue)

Sorry Guys, slight hijack here, but does anyone know how to get the steering controls working? My P38 never had the controls so I replaced the steering wheel, but all that works is the up/down for channels. No volume or mode buttons work. Once again, Sorry but just thought someone might know :o
