Correct, I believe that a 1960 vehicle can get away with white. A quick google got this

Use a tail and brake housing with a clear lens, tail becomes side light, brake light becomes indicator. For a 1960 I believe it will be ok for MOT...but I believe lots of things:)

Since owning a land rover I have been converted to Plus gas, much more efficacious than wd40 as it hangs around longer and penetrates better.... in my opinion:)

Made a bracket to mount overdrive shifter, the day was perfect and I had everything ready...except the socket I need to modify for torquing up the castle nut.... ordered at the same time as the mounting kit and the other new bits and pieces that arrived during the week. Mounting of overdrive...

Are you talking about the whole thing...all the black stuff? If so get yourself into Lidls and get a pot of the black shoe polish, picture below in brown. It has a built in applicator, it made my dash look like new.

When Lidl offered these last time around I went in at about lunchtime to find them all gone. I asked a shop assistant if they had had the chargers.......... It seems that the first customer through the door that morning purchased the lot!

Have you checked for diesel in the engine oil? ...assuming it is a diesel that is!

As stated above, you can see in my first pici where I have ground off the swaging that held the snail cam. Second shows the new ones screwed on, the kit was from ebay for not a lot of money.
