Hello folks,long time no see,was wondering would a discovery 300tdi engine fit on to a defender LT77 gearbox? Reason I ask is i fitted said gearbox to my 2a not so long back but now the old V8 is on its way out and I've been offered a 300TDI for nothing,yes nothing!,so was hoping to pull the V8...

Now the series is done I thought it was about time it had a proper run,so 120 miles,£70 of fuel :eek: a pack of sausage rolls and a flask of tea later and heres the result :D Had a great day,did three lanes in total and nothing broke! :D

When I did the rebuild on my 2a I fitted a different V8,still a rover but this one is out of an sd1 not a p6 rover,obviously no two engines are the same but this one doesn't seem to have as much torque at top end but revs its tits off and goes like the clappers! :D I don't know the history of...

This might be a silly question but iv'e just changed the engine on my series 2a V8, it had strombergs on before but now with the new engine it has su's and i can't remember which way it is to turn the mixture screw to weaken/richen :confused: Could someone please refresh my memory :der: Cheers
