I've just changed the coolant sensor and the problem has now been fixed. Thank you GrumpyGel for the link to that manual it was very useful.

Yeah it probably is the wrong code because i had to choose a different model for it to read the codes. I've ordered a coolant sensor but if there are two I don't know if I have the correct one. But I'll look at that manual and see if it is when it arrives.

I read on another thread that it could be the coolant sensor. Where abouts on the engine is this located?. I might just change it because it's cheap and see if it fixes it.

Mine is a 1998 manual and if that pic on eBay is identical to what you got then I know exactly where they fit and there is two of them. It's not near the gearstick or on an armrest. But yours is probably different because it's newer.

There are two places for them to go. One little recess near the drivers door side of the dashboard and one near passenger side door. Il put a pic up if you can't find what I mean.

I have fitted some led headlight bulbs to my freelander. With one led and one normal bulb it works ok but with both led bulbs they are very dim. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

Where is the pollen filter located and how do I change it?. I looked in the passenger footwell but can't see where it is or how it's removed.

Do you have HDC?. Have you checked all the ABS fuses? and have you checked the ABS ECU under the drivers seat if that is disconnected then none of the HDC, TC or ABS lights will show.
