Firstly what type of bulb is the ABS bulb in the dashboard? Can I get one from halfords?

My freelander has HDC and ABS but appears not to have traction control. It has drum brakes on the back wheels. Is it possible to not have traction control?

My battery is dying and I need a new one is it worth getting a 800 amp starting power one and will it do any damage to get a bigger one considering that it currently has 640 amps at the moment?

I've just taken the dashboard apart and now know what type of bulbs they are and the ABS one was actually missing.

I also found that where the TC bulb would be there wasn't even a bulb holder so it appears not to have TC unless the person who removed the ABS bulb broke it out but that is unlikely

You either get all 3 or not at all

TC and HDC are a clever engineered byproduct of ABS

I just replaced all my bulbs in the instrument display and there is definetly not a bulb holder for the traction control and it hasnt been removed as there would be marks on the circuit board and there isn't.

Can anyone explain this? there is HDC and ABS on it.

It also seems i have the "two amigos" which i assume is the same as the "three amigos" because of the absence of the TC.

If it has abs then it has tc. You need another bulb holder then i'm sure you'll reunite all three amigos

Re battery fit the 800 amp if you can..

Would there be any reason why it doesn't have a bulb holder for the TC light apart from someone removing it?. If it does have TC then it almost seems like an error during manufacturing not including the bulb holder which isn't likely.

Its still under warranty but I don't think they will fit a new bulb holder as it looks like it never had one.

There's no reason for it to not have a bulb holder for TC. Apart from anything else it enables the driver to see a fault condition and assists in ABS system diagnostics.

Under warranty... I'd take it in and tell them to get it sorted out! It's sounding like its been frigged so that you dont see the 3 amigo fault

I took it to the garage and they did diagnostics and after they reset all the fault codes the ABS went back to normal. But i put the HDC on and it made a strange sound which i assume is the pump and it didn't slow me down. Then the lights came on again.

The fault code is something like "pump valve fault" but they are gonna check to make sure. What could be the problem? and will the whole pump need replacing?.

They had other fault codes originally of "bad earth" and "faulty sensors" but they disapeered the second time and the most consistent is the "pump valve fault".

Would make sure they sort the problem out, as if it is the abs pump it will be around the £1000 mark for new pump with fitting ect, that will be why there was no bulb in the abs, it will have been removed to mask the problem
