Happened to mine...It's the solenoid. Can be replaced but best to replace the whole starter unit

Gotta better than any HG replacement....Sounds it to me. Surely not such a major job for a garage with all the kit?

Mine's been losing coolant (2001 V6) for some time. It's quite bad now and Im replacing about a pint a week (100miles). 1st investigation found the header cracked, but sadly this obviously wasnt it. Like yours, pressure and toxicity tests found no damage to HG and Ive been relieved to find that...

I got a wireless (radiowave) one from Ebay for just a few quid. It uses an unused FM band to play your iPod/MP3 player through. Works ok. certainly better sound than the tape version

Have you still got the wood kit? dont suppose you would consider selling just one bit?

Would anybody have an original wood trim panel for the vent/temp/aircon controls? Its the only bit Im missing. I dont really want to buy the lot, especially a "pattern" kit from Ebay.

Exactly the same problem with mine (Y Reg). Header tank was replaced after garage found cracks but no other leaks after a pressure test and toxicity test (HG). No steam, no smoke. It's running fine...I'll keep my eye on this thread

My ES is missing the wood panel that fits around the ventilation/air con controls. Assuming the rest of it is of original LR origin, any suggestions as to where I could pick up just this piece? I know the whole kit is £££££. thanks!

Thanks for the reply...I believe they pressure tested and toxicity tested the coolant. The cap was changed too...I'll give your suggestion a try, but with such a small loss, I would'nt expect to see anything dripping. There's cwertainly not any damp on carpets. What sort of a reputation do these...
