Head gasket / Thermostat housing/ Thermostat pipes / Heater Matrix/Header tank split - that sorta covers most.
I suppose you cant obviously see coolant?
feel under the heater matrix and see if the carpet is wet?
Thermostat is in the middle of the "V" and is a bugger to do (so I am told)
If its HG - good luck.

Dont panic yet Andy ,run yer motor on a flat for half hour see if ya got water on floor [do this on a dry day] if not check ta see if ya got steam coming out yer rear bit or milky ****e on yer dip stick, or crud in ya water and come back to us wiv the answers ,and best oh luck. . . .andy_p said:

I hope it's not a head gasket. From memory when my HG went on the V6 there was clouds of steam coming from the exhaust. So, I reckon the fault is some where else. As Ming suggested, sit the Hippo on a flat area of road and let the engine run a while. Check for water under the engine bay and steam venting from pipes. How many miles do you cover in 4-5 days?
