    Bonnet to bulkhead buffers

Thanks gents it sounds as though not all defenders are fitted with them probably depends on what day it was manufactured and if Fred in the bulkhead dept could be bothered.

    Bonnet to bulkhead buffers

The end of the rebuild is nearly in sight. I have painted the bonnet fitted new bushes into the bonnet hinges and put the bonnet on. Some smart arse walked passed and told me I needed rubber buffers between the bonnet and the bulkhead to stop it rattling. i have since looked at every...

I am attempting the same thing but I am still at the stage of a couple of wires to start the engine. Did you just send power to the dash fuse box and if so did everything work? What did you do with the Underseal fuse box? How long did it take?

Are the input shafts in the transfer box easy to change? I have seen a few threads about this but not taken a lot of notice maybe buster has a step by step guide? Did the gearbox used for these oil throwers have a shorter output shaft ? I was told this transfer box is from a disco that...

    out put shaft too long???

I have not left the dowels in both as once I removed the pto plate at thr rear of the box the box slid on against the gearbox. If I replace the input shaft with a cross drilled one could I leave the oil thrower off and if so will oil not leak from the pto cover plate?

Do you mean cut the thread off of the output shaft from the gearbox? Will this cause any other problems? How did this transfer box fit originally? Would this box work and seal if I left the aluminium plate off Many thanks for your response.
