as title peeps, i have 4 litres of asdas finest mineral 15w/40 engine oil sat in me garage left over from tdi service 4 weeks ago, car now gone, new car has different oil so if anyone in Gt Yarmouth area wants to pick it up for FREE it will save me a trip to the tip, shame to bin new oil.

have you tried taking the adapter thingy off the end of the pipe?, looks like the adapter came out of the old pump on the pipe?.

Sometimes you can undo the viscous using a hammer & chisel or big flat screwdriver, just dont forget it's reverse thread, you need to "tighten" it to undo it.

look at the pulleys "inline", especially the pas pump one, see if any are out of line. take off the belt & turn all pulleys by hand, you may have one that feels rough?.

It may fail, any '93 on petrol car has to meet low emissions, i would either ask your mot man's advice before booking in or just take it & keep your fingers crossed.

Is it worth replacing the viscous fan with an electric one to speed up warm-up time? Had been thinking of that dom, followed the thread on it, but i may just remove the fan over winter, as i can switch the a/c fans on if it gets warm.

V I C test is straight forward, as long as your car has chassis numbers on it, from memory £ 40 at your nearest vosa centre. Its not a test on your repair, more the check that the car is genuine (not a ringer)

Try to download the info on changing discs, you need to undo the big nuts behind the drive plate.
