Anyone able help with this noise?

Could be a hole in the intercooler or leaking gasket, also check the boost hose from the turbo to the top of the injector pump, although I suspect it will be lacking in power if that has come off.

    Leak identification...

Could be the oil filter itself leaking, they are an bastard to get to and maybe not tightened properly

I would suggest calipers, or at least a brake related problem.

    Dislocation/relocation cones

    Dislocation/relocation cones

So, would it not be a good idea?

    Dislocation/relocation cones

That's a good idea, then I could use the rest of the cone as a megaphone!

    Dislocation/relocation cones

But why, they allow the spring to dislocate. I think if you have them on the top and bottom it will let you go over bigger humps.

    Dislocation/relocation cones

Some people call them relocation cones

    Dislocation/relocation cones

I have recently been looking at fitting dislocation cones to the rear of my disco 1, I have seen many vehicles with these fitted, some at the top, some at the bottom. I am thinking of putting them top and bottom. Will this be a good idea?

Quick update, the heated rear screen comes on with the windscreen button on the climate control unit.

    Heated screen switch

There are lines in the front windscreen, I will have a look for the plugs shortly, the rear screen comes on automatically, no button to press but I can see the clear lines the couple of times it's been steamed up. It looks like previous owner has bypassed the (missing) switch so that the rear...

    Heated screen switch

Hi guys, I have recently bought a D2, there were a few switch blanks missing when I got it, 2 in the dash (by the hazard lights button) and 2 in the centre console by the window switches. It looks like the ones by the window switches are for heated seats, I don't think it has these (GS model)...

    300tdi starting problem

Quick update, stripped starter today. Motor runs fine powered straight from the battery. Solenoid operated everytime I asked it to (powered straight from the battery) the only think I found was that the solenoid had to put a lot of pressure on the brass pin to make the switch close. I've built...

Yeah, abs. It runs along the boot floor support in front of the tank. Is abs light on?

1997 disco 300tdi not switching off

Try pulling the wire off the back of the fuel solenoid, this will illuminate either ignition or fuel solenoid. If it keeps running when wire is removed, it's the solenoid, if it stops when wire is removed, test to see if there's a 12v feed to the wire, this would indicate ignition.

    Yet another rattle.

Have you checked the diff oil level? Could be the muck shield behind the brake disc or even a wheel bearing on its way out. Try jacking it up and spinning each wheel individually to see if you can replicate the noise.

    300tdi starting problem

It turns over fine with a socket on the crank and also by rocking the vehicle in gear. I've ordered a new starter motor but I'll take the old one off in the morning and check it over and keep it as a spare if there's any obvious fixable problems.
