I have a loud noise like air is being forced out of a small space at high pressure, it only makes the noise when the pressure of the turbo is kicked in and only while driving, it gets louder with higher revs. The power does not drop when its happening. I got told its probably the turbo so i replaced it and the noise is still there an no one i have asked knows what it could be
Greatly appreciate any ideas

Check your hoses - might be a hole somewhere that 'activates' under pressure??

Check all the jubilee clips are nice and tight.

I'm presuming that you can't get it to happen when you just blip the throttle in neutral from you saying it only happens when you are driving??

Randomly - might be worth checking your UJ's on the props as well.

A proper expert will be right along and make me sound like the amateur potcher that I am... :)

Ive replaced the hoses with silicone ones an cant see any holes and all clips are tight.

It is only when driving above 2000 rpm, if you let go of throttle it will stop then start again when you press it again.

I will have a look at the uj's when i get chance

The local landy specialist i went to tried telling me there was no catalytic converter in them, so it shows anyone could know different stuff to others

Thanks for your suggestions :)

Could be a hole in the intercooler or leaking gasket, also check the boost hose from the turbo to the top of the injector pump, although I suspect it will be lacking in power if that has come off.

My mates disco had this problem after he fitted a different interviewer so we suspected it was a hole somewhere in the system but it didn't drop power. He later blew the engine up but that's another story
