Heated screen switch

Hi guys, I have recently bought a D2, there were a few switch blanks missing when I got it, 2 in the dash (by the hazard lights button) and 2 in the centre console by the window switches. It looks like the ones by the window switches are for heated seats, I don't think it has these (GS model), I'm not too bothered about them anyway, my question is, do all disco 2's have a heated screen switch? The heated rear screen works but there is no switch. I don't know if front heated screen works as it's not frosted up since I've had it. It's a 53 plate, if it makes any difference.

No, only if a heated windscreen is fitted, the rear heated screen will also have a switch.

I assume you don't have an owners handbook which shows the dash switch layout, you can download a copy from the LR siteTOPiX

is it conncted up under windscreen scuttle panel? there is 2 plugs either side under bonnet,
these are for front screen, if no switch for rear? how do you operate it?

U will need a realy and switch n someone who can programme it enable it front not sure about ur rear !??? If you lift ur bonnet front window should be connected plugs Each cant miss them !

have you read what he has put? he doesn't know if it has! if it isn't a heated screen, what good would a switch and relay be?

He can use his imagination and press the button haha

Serious note he should see the lines on screen and just to check if connected under bonnet

he said no frost, musta been inside last night! mine was totaly white this morning, and as you say! The lines in the glass!!!!

There are lines in the front windscreen, I will have a look for the plugs shortly, the rear screen comes on automatically, no button to press but I can see the clear lines the couple of times it's been steamed up. It looks like previous owner has bypassed the (missing) switch so that the rear screen is on constantly then.

i converted mine cost me £40.00 for genuine switch and relay, look on ebay for a switch section, as when i had done mine a complete lot of switches came on for a tener £10

Quick update, the heated rear screen comes on with the windscreen button on the climate control unit.

Have you not sourced any individual switches yet? as it only works for 5mins on the climate control,

That's ok, it only takes 4mins 30seconds to clear

Is it just a case of plug and play or will I need it activating with nanocom etc?

It will need enabling lol u sorted it out yet do u just need relay and switch ?
