300 TDI 90. I get between 25 and 28 mpg. mostly short town runs on 265/75/16 cooper A/Ts.

I have just done this on my Defender. I was struggling to get the Mirror back in, so had a close look at it. The bottom locating tang is spring loaded and mine was siezed up. A quick spray of WD40 and working the tang in and out a bit freed it off. It was a 5 second job to locate it back in the...

Bought my 90 on evilbay two years ago for 4 and a half K. It had just been fully rebuilt on a galv chassis with virtually all new parts. The insurance company valued it at 9 and half K, for my agreed value policy.

Just getting the Defender ready for the MOT. Went through it looking for faults yesterday. All the lights work, wipers work, had to adjust the handbrake, Tyres all fine. Jetwashed it underneath. (Local mot man doesn't like dirty motors) Gave it a good wash on the outside. Fingers crossed.....

That sounds like the rear "A" Frame ball joint. It's quite an easy fix.

The Most difficult Land Rover task ...... is always the next one..

I have a 1990 90 with a 300tdi conversion. Had it just under two years. Fuel consumption on average is 28 mpg, It has a 2" lift and runs 265/75/16 Runway Enduro A/T tires. It will easily top 80mph on the sat nav. But It drinks fuel at over 65mph. Steady 55 is fine though. I tend to avoid...

Nowt wrong with alloys on a Defender.

I think only the numbers on the numberplate are original on mine. :)
