As you maybe aware I am getting a 90 but someone said they are no good for daily use as they keep needing repairs?

Is this true? as i will be using it to get around in

I take my kids to scool in mine every day so has to be very reliable, as long as you look after it it will look after you.....

AFAIK they need a little more in the way of servicing etc, but they are otherwise reliable, Im getting a 110 as a daily family vehicle, and business vehicle.

Its like anything mechanical , it depends on maintenance , if you dont look after it ,it will not look after you !

No less reliable than any other vehicle based on 1960s technology (90s & 110s onwards), or earlier if you have a series.

The advantages are however, with grease nipples you have a better chance than those with sealed for life joints. And with a 6,000 mile oil change you reduce the chance of excess engine wear with oil oil, and when things do go wrong, kit's usually much cheaper to fix.

Ive used the beast every day for the last nearly 12 years..... Its my school run , get to work, shopping beast. I do about 15 miles a day but in tiny diesel gobbling journeys, followed by looong trips on the motorway where she gets hammered. Shes only let me down 3 times in all that time....and thats why i have recovery.

I play at the weekend as well as poddle about in the week and although more things are going wrong, theyre fixable and the off roading caused them or contributed along with my spectacular lack of maintenance.

If you keep an eye on all the bits that rotate, wobble or are apt to get loose on a regular basis it shouldn't be too much trouble. Plus, compared to many cars, the spares are relatively affordable and easy to change with the kinds of tools you're likely to have in the shed. A little work each weekend and you can have what amounts to a new car eventually!

And thats why Im buying one!! after being charged an arm and leg for one injector on this bus I have right now (electronic common rail guff that needs specialist computer stuff to code it to the engine), I looked at it, a 110 does the same (or more) MPG than this thing, insurance is cheaper, tax is cheaper, no brainer, cos I wanted one anyway!!!
