I believe that the one touch function doesnt work until the windows are set. Sometimes setting them can be a right pain, it took me a few trys to get all of them done; as previously said if it isnt done in one movement then it doesnt work and register as set.

It was a moment of bliss when I turned the key and then an hour later it still hadnt over heated.... so took it for a run - remembered the reason I never gave up on her - and after 50 miles that temperature gauge was still dead centre :D dont think i have ever been so happy (deprived childhood...

After all the stress of everything my RR is finally fixed and runs beautifully. Just wanted to say a big thanks to all the people who offered advice and help, without this i would still be looking at my engine wondering where to start:rolly:

Not sure if this applies to your model, but when I changed my batteries afterwards I had to put the key in the drivers door - turn the key (keeping the key turned) press a button on the fob, then turn the key the other way and repeat pressing the other fob button.

The switch is just by the starter motor on my RR 4.0, it goes into the block and has a multiplug that goes into it. The only reference I can find in RAVE to it describes it as RH KS - presumes RH stands for right hand just not sure what KS stands for (Electrical/Repair/Harness Engine V8 in RAVE)...

Dont knock those people David, they are the reason I can continue ploughing money into my poorly RR :D, or maybe indeed the reason I have had to replace so many parts on mine......:mad:

Or just buy a V8 for real power and sound :cool:

Knowing Land Rover it wont be that simple; you will proberbly have to program them to work etc

In my ongoing RR saga I need to change the car battery as I noticed that whoever changed it last only put a 65amp one in and I beleive it needs to be at least 110amp. Anyway, what i would like to know is when I change it what am I likely to lose? I know I will have to reset all the...

Hi, I have removed my starter off my RR 4.0, am I right in thinking that to test it you can connect a pair of jump leads from a car battery to the corrosponding + & - on the solenoid? If this is right then the starter is completely dead, doesnt turn or spin. Is this more likely to be a faulty...

Depending on how handy you are, you could fit it yourself and just get it certified so you have all the relevant paperwork (some insurance companies want the certificate whereas some dont seem to bother)

i was going to buy the new one as a keeper, maybe swap a few parts over that mine has (light grilles, bullbar, spots, 2000 lights etc) and then just sell the rest of it for parts. just have to put it down to a very expensive mistake - not that ive told "her indoors" how much we would lose :cool:
