    Thanks Hippo - I'm ok about tyre wear on the front of vehicles and when tracking/alignment needs attention, but never had this on the rear of a vehicle which is why I am asking specifics about the F1. All wheels are same and tyres are all Goodyear Wranglers 215/65/R16. Not sure what the VCU test...

    getting serious wear on outer edge of rear tyres - 5door manual F1 1998. Im told tracking out, bushes might be worn, not a common problem (from a 4x4 'specialist'. Of course I am reluctant to just leave it with this 'specialist' to run up a serious investigation bill, so thought I would ask you...

    Mk 1 Ignition switch fault - again

    Many thanks jimjp. Looks like the price at the LR Dealer is par for the course - for new. Dare not risk used on the basis that these things seem to be a common fault and never improved upon. Looks like a restless night while I consider forking out Xmas dosh. :( All the best and thanks again...

    Anybody experienced the ignition switch fault on the Mk1. My 98 1800 5door is currently on its 3rd switch assembly and starting to play up after only 2 yrs. The last one was £13.20 from the local LR dealer in May 2008. I rang today for another one - Part LYXB100350 - and the guy on parts started...

    What straight replacement for R770

    Thanks Gordon. I googled your sugestion and all the technical charts indicate that the Freelander Nov 97 to Apr 01 without stalk control, does not 'normally' need an interface. Whole list of changes by the year! Thanks for the pointer, I think the next move is to take out the R770 and photograph...
