Mk 1 Ignition switch fault - again

Anybody experienced the ignition switch fault on the Mk1. My 98 1800 5door is currently on its 3rd switch assembly and starting to play up after only 2 yrs. The last one was £13.20 from the local LR dealer in May 2008. I rang today for another one - Part LYXB100350 - and the guy on parts started with an apology saying that LR, where they have to buy parts, have increased the price to £63 - YES - £63!! an increase of £50 . I couldnt believe it, nor could the guy on the counter. He said they were in stock - I wasnt surprised! Told him I might get back to him.

Anyone have any sources/contacts for this switch assembly - dont want to spoil Xmas just yet

Many thanks jimjp. Looks like the price at the LR Dealer is par for the course - for new. Dare not risk used on the basis that these things seem to be a common fault and never improved upon. Looks like a restless night while I consider forking out Xmas dosh.
