Do you or any of your friends/family belong to the AA/RAC etc and have home start (or whatever it is called these days). A lot of the memberships will cover them for driving any vehicle, so could be worth a call to see if they can get it started for you!!:D

Unfortunately not, I was already with the angle grinder to start chopping it about, but I cannot see how I would get it to work and I don't have any welding equipment! Thought it would be better to leave intact and sell it to help pay for a new one.....

OK! I have the standard towing eyes/lashing points on the front, so assuming these are also present on the back as well, it should be easy enough to add these as well. Thanks for all the responses, they have been helpful.
