Thats what i thought to. I was going to paint it but would have missed half of the rotten bits. Started on the bulkhead now. I took some pics just not had a chance to post them yet. Ill try and get them up over the weekend.

I thought that galvanising tanks was a no no because the oil/ fuel can cause the zinc to flake off. Guess that i was told sh*t then.

Hi, This is what i would do. 1. Have the chassis shot blasted then galvanized. Cost me £80 to shot blast mine. Looks really good. Ive been quoted 100 to dip it just not finished the welding yet. 2.Strip and re-biuild. Rings, mains, bigends, timing chain seals and gaskets. I think about 120-140...

Got a bit more done. Finshed the back of the chassie now and turned it over to start the dumb irons. Cut the first one apart to get rid of the rot. Going to weld it up tomorrow. Ill post some pics. Didnt have the camera today. Also if any one needs an engine stand sealey have them on offer...

Looking good:). You've had to do a bit more to your chassis than i have. Mine should be ready for dipping towards the end of next week. Ill post the pics and let you know what it comes out like. Rob

Are you going to have the chassie dipped after youve repaired it. Only realized how cheap it was when i looked at paint for mine. Be about 200quid for shot blasting and dipping. Worth every penny when you will spend nearly a hundred quid on paint! Rob

Its my mum and dads garage. Left home years ago bit dad never got his garage back. Always got a toy of some kind in. Was looking out at the rain earlier thinking how nice it was being in the dry. Im cant see how some people can cock up repairs so badly.
