Disco Facelift heater resister pack location

Yes the Toshiba 2SD1460/D1460 unit from Ebay works perfect! The transistor from Maplin was not the correct part despite it matching the specs pritty much perfectly! Strange thing even though the Toshiba unit was meant to be a direct replacement the unit it ever so slightly fatter but screws...

Disco Facelift heater resister pack location

Well here is the conclusion to my problem, I ordered the part from ebay TOSHIBA 2SD1460/D1460 | eBay Whilst I was waiting I thought I would go to Maplin with transistor pack in hand to ask for a replacement resistor and capacitor for this unit which they gladly supplied for £0.48p. I fitted...

Disco Facelift heater resister pack location

I am going to have to order off eBay like you suggest, I just hope the postage to the UK is not too much. When removing the old transistor the legs had red sleeves on them which I placed on the new part ensuring the legs did not touch the metal casing.

Disco Facelift heater resister pack location

Well the new transistor arrived from Maplin and I promptly replaced the part which was simple enough. All seemed well until I went to test the blower control and found that it still worked on full speed but on all the other speeds it was blowing very very lightly. Granted very lightly is better...

Disco Facelift heater resister pack location

Sorry for the massive delay in replying, been mega busy and simply forgot about the problem. I have done some research about the Transistor and I think from looking at the original parts data sheet I may have found a very close alternative at Maplins Standard Bipolar NPN Power Transistors...

Disco Facelift heater resister pack location

I have a 2002 Facelift Discovery with climate control. It decided to only work when set to full fan speed. I have searched across the interweb and many people said it was probably down to a resister pack fault so i got onto eBay and bought what i thought was the part. So i decided to start...

    Where to find a earth!

Ok this might sound like an easy question but I am having problems. I have just installed a 400w amp into my facelift Disco and I am having trouble finding a descent earth in the boot area! I have currently connected it to the rear seat belt bolt which fastens to the wheel arch but this earth is...

VW Golf GTI MK5 Vs Disco TD5 fuel economy

LOL yeh that would be great BUT the misses wants a little more comfort as I nearly knocked her out a few times off road on the internal body work. So I had to compromise  Still thought the Disco is a great car for off road!

VW Golf GTI MK5 Vs Disco TD5 fuel economy

I am trading in my VW Golf GTI Mk5 this week for an 04 plate Disco TD5. I was wondering what the TD5 is like on fuel compared to my Golf? At the moment I am getting at best 30mpg around town and between 35-40mpg at 60mph on the motorway. How does the TD5 compare on fuel???

    Play in steering wheel!

Sorry for the slow reply, on holiday at the moment in Somerset with the land rover! So I am guessing you do not advise doing the seals and just replace the box completly!

    Play in steering wheel!

I have an old 90 with the four bolt steering box. My steering wheel has a little play in it which makes the steering a bit vague whilst on the road! Also my power steering is bloody heavy. I was wondering if my box needs a seal kit, and if so does anyone know of a good online guide on how to do...

    Oil in air filter unit

Sorry I have not replied to my own post, been busy doing tapits and finding all sorts of other issues like tapit adjuster screw snapped in half! only £2 though. I think this will be my fix also to use a plastic bottle as changing the pistons seems like a long job! I know some of you might...

    Oil in air filter unit

I was out green laning today around Flintshire/Denbighshire when I realised I had water running out of my radiator! Ok no problem I got home and started taking the radiator out as I found a big hole in it where a branch had gone through it! When taking the radiator off I removed the air filter...
