    Help removing Watts Linkage

I did mine recently , I reversed up onto my ramps which gave me enough room to get an 18" bar on the socket . I braced my feet against the wheel and heaved . I weigh 100kg and spend a lot of time in the gym and it was bl**dy hard going. Once the centre one was off the others were easier. I...

    resetting adaptions with Hawkeye

they are controlled through the ecu the adaptions are for the fuelling , as I understand it you have short term and long term trims . while you are driving the fueling is controlled using all of the info from the various sensors , speed , gear , throttle position , engine temp, lambda etc...

Adaptive learning issue on 2002 disco2 V8 lpg

adaptions can be reset by a hawkeye v5 or similar , if only one bank is going out of trim then look at your lambda sensors. if one is working and the other isnt then the ecu will tie itself in knots trying to adjust the fuelling a diagnostic should identify if a sensor is faulty

    watts linkage -- advice please

As David says they aren't bushes as such , more like bearings? The centre one took nearly 7tonnes to get it moving:eek: sounds like a plan with the other bushes, though knowing my luck I'd set fire to the car:doh: Andy

    D2 2002 V8 4.0 rough. Misfire? Help...

If you have a hawkeye then get the (free) V5 upgrade and you can reset the adaptions. I reckon your fuel trims are out because the ecu is trying to make up for incorrect maf readings. 11mpg is not a good figure. I was getting this sort of mpg and when I got a hawkey both lambda sensors were...

    Adjusting ride height with hawkeye

you need to get an unlock code before you upgrade by e-mailing omitec, then connect everything up , (mains lead , update cable from hawkeye to laptop) when you run the disc it will prompt you for the serial number and the unlock code . it then clears the hawkeye and installs V5 . takes about an...

    watts linkage -- advice please

cheers for replies , I have read the article which UP wrote which was helpful as always. I was amazed to learn that the watts linkage was used on steam engines in the 1700's (google is your friend);) I see that it allows the axle to articulate while keeping it central to the chassis . On mine...
