    5 fuel pumps failed, impossible?

Thanks for the replys everyone. I think part of it is crap aftermarket pumps, but it does seem excessive. Its in the garage now having a new LR pump (ouch) and filter fitted. Hopefully that will be the last I hear of it. At least this way the parts are guaranteed. M

    5 fuel pumps failed, impossible?

There has actually been three different Garages work on the pumps! I did the last two myself as the front ones are pretty easy. I'll Make some calls and report back! M

    5 fuel pumps failed, impossible?

I think it has had a diagnostic on it but not at a LR garage. Maybe nows the time? I take it to LR specialists who claim to have all the gear, would that be true? M

    5 fuel pumps failed, impossible?

Hi, got a 2001 TD4. About 36 months ago the rear fuel pump failed, I got that replaced (new pump 1). About 18 months ago it started having intermittent failure problems. The garage replaced the front (under bonnet) fuel pump and it still occurred, so they put that one back and replaced the rear...

Best guess re source of noise

Thanks for the replys guys. I did put the spare on the front left and it didn't make any difference, but the noise did start no long after I had new discs and pads on the front so that's got me thinking that maybe its related to that and not a bearing at all. I might swap the tyres again and...

Best guess re source of noise

Thanks for the replies guys - I don't have the gear so reckon I'll have to go to a garage and throw some cash around so some half-wit can tell me my car is making a noise and I should replace all the tyres and the whole transmission (or something like that). Not that I don't believe garages...

Best guess re source of noise

Thats a good idea - but probably needs to be done in a garage on a rolling road? (other ways of doing it?)

Best guess re source of noise

Got a freelander TD4 manual and I am getting a deep "du-du-du" rumbling noise from what feels like the front left wheel. The frequency of the noise is related to the speed of the car / speed of the wheels and not the speed of the engine or gearbox (so that eliminates a large portion of the...

Window Regulator Electrical Problem Diagnosis Help

Hi, wondered if anyone out there can give me a quick steer on this problem? Symptoms :- RH rear window not moving from either switch. LH rear window not moving from rear switch, but OK from front switch. Diagnosis/testing I swapped the RH regulator to the other side and found it works OK, so...

Tailgate window regulator advice + parts/servicing in Melbourne

Hi all, need a quick bit of advice on repairing a mangled window regulator. Please see attached photo. Note the blue sheath that has been pulled into the casing and mangled up. The wires are a mess but otherwise it seems ok. The kit I reference below doesn't seem to have the blue sheath in it so...

    Tailgate Window Regulator

Pulled the top of mine....see photo. Pretty mangled, all wires need replacing and the blue sheath has cracked, but the spindle looks a bit worn, but OK. Does the cracked blue sheath mean I need to replace the whole lot or should I go for a a wiring kit and give it a punt ... ? I'm in...

    Tailgate Window Regulator

Ok, thanks I'll give that a go at the weekend (because I've got nothing better to do obviously). Also, the white thing, I've attached an image of the thing I mean taken from another thread, is this some sort of tensioner? How come all the instructions just say 'refit in reverse' when in fact...

    Tailgate Window Regulator

well this is the embarassing bit. I actually had an unrelated problem with something else in the tailgate about a year ago which I fixed, but I think I loosened the 3 bolts holding the regulator motor and forgot to re-tighten them and eventually the tailgate window failed. Having taken it all...

    Tailgate Window Regulator

Being honest, I'm not sure whats going on! I had a problem with the regulator which I think I have resolved. I had the whole unit out easily enough including the rails and motor etc. I laid it out as if it was inside the door and wound the wires around the pulleys etc and then attempted to...

    Tailgate Window Regulator

Hi, just in regard to this I think I might be missing something simple. I have the regulator out and fixed up and I just need to put it back. My question is how do you get it back in whilst keeping all the wires on the pulleys? In particular the lower pulleys? I put mine back In and...
