Just to let you know that I've managed to do the job.Pulled the bottom of plastic and with a morror saw what I needed to pull to get it undone. Bought a new catch solinoid £43 ish job done.Thanks for your reply.

I read your post about freelander tailgate not opening. Mine is locked and wont open but window comes down.Anyhow I have taken the plastic trim off and can see the lock and all.I just want to get in there and manualy pull the lock open.I have undone the 2 torx screws but try as I might Istill cant get the plastic cover off.I think if I pull any more Im going to break it. Am I missing somethig.Maybe something else needs undoing? Any sugestions would be welcome. neilc
