If it's been standing for a while, it could be shot seals on clutch master and slave. Not a big job but bleeding the slave can be a pain.

Hi Skismo You should have removed the dip stick tube. Then you pull the starter motor towards the radiator and angle it up up and lift up. It helps to have an assistant to support the motor with a rope or sling round it. try that next time !

Remember : Rev up when shifting down and let the revs die when shifting up. take it easy and don't rush the box. it hates it :mad:

Best is to source an alternator with a vac pump at the back and connect to the servo. A breaker's yard may be of help. Remove the butterfly and linkages for an unrestricted inlet. That said, dunno about the cost though. You need an oil feed for the pump. A tee at the pressure sensor...

Don't get discouraged. You only need electricity to heat and to crank the motor. OK, so your battery is shot. Let's try to start without the electrics. Find a starting handle and hand crank the engine to ensure it is free and not jammed solid. Otherwise you'll burn up the starter motor...

I wouldn't give up so easily. After all it was created by man and so it should be repairable. Take heart. I would suggest you start up the engine first, it will be encouraging then. A non runner is a depressing prospect. Try to see if the engine is free and not seized solid, you may try...

It is not high tech. if you're reasonably handy with tools you can get by. Get a workshop manual if you can, will be helpful. I would suggest that you start with engine, transmission, steering, brakes and suspension in that order. It would be adviseable not to remove everything to pieces...

Ron what modifications did you have to make to the fuel system ? How do you changeover from veg oil to diesel and back ? By solenoid valves or manual ball cocks ? How do you preheat the veg oil ? Also do you get improved power, smooth running or any other benefits ?
