My dads bought and got the bulkhead/footwell repair sections we need, ill get piccys of them as i dont know much about landys at the moment so i will have to learn the names.

Got a set of parabolics coming aswell, were also considering a new galvanized chassis, but it depends on the budget.

engine wise its probably going to have a 2.0ltr TDi montego, has anyone else done this conversion? what are the thoughts on it, we have everything for the conversion so we can do that, or go back to the 2 1/4ltr petrol on LPG. It just seems although similar running costs will be achieved a diesel engine probably will give a more constant mpg.

Any ideas on colour? either the colour it is now, black or a shade of green hmmm

Looks good, keep the photos coming.

Don't bother with the names of things it's much more amusing inventing your own.

If it int bust don't mend it, or in this case replace it.

It looks good as it is, I think any landy looks better "used", I would have liked it more before you pressure washed it .

haha yeah, i really should have got a picture before, it pretty much was a light alkaline green colour!

The chassis will need some work, its not past it so yet to decide on that. But it would be nice to have something that wont need to be worried out. Will have to repair the bulkhead and get it stripped down before the chassis is decided.

:)

I'd seriously consider galv chassis while it's at this stage, especially if your replacing springs aswell!! You will only regret it if you don't.
Colour is good, I recon everybody is painting these old landys green these days. It's nice to see some people keeping the colours original. Being ex army I'm sick of green Land Rovers!!!!!! I'm just compleating a series rebuild. It should be ready to cruise in soon. Galv chassis rock!!

PS I've got a bulkhead/wings/bonnet for it if you need em, Dont know where you are but Take em out me way,If you can be ars*d to come and get em?

Im in selby, so im pretty damn local to you, we have the wings and bonnet outside although the drivers wing needs a dent beating out. What are the condition of yours? it might be worth considering.

Might be getting a galv chassis at the end of this month, just so happens my mums getting a insurance payout (dunno what for) but it will be getting a new chassis as my dads found a firm thats got them on offer till the end of this month (im not sure where)

but yeah its deffo worth doing the chassis as all the rest its going to be done.

a little progress today, made a start on the bodywork.

with abit of luck tomorrow the new footwell might be going in. Every bare metal part is currently being painted in a rust converter so nothing happening until tomorrow. Im at work in 15mins anyway :(

Slow down a bit will you!! At this rate you'll have the thing MOT'd before mine and I started last summer!! I'll see if I can get some piccys too before the birds nests and long grass claim it again. Timing chain last night - No nuckles left now and I'm told lots of swearing could be heard from the garden.

last summer!! you're a fast worker,i've been at mine since...about 2003, but then i'm a fat lazy bastid, who has a lot of other **** to do. i hope to get a **** load done this summer to it, now me son has decided to get a job in a garage he might put on his 'can i help 'head instead of his 'i want to play space invaders 'head
but then mines is a hobby i do when i feel like it. having said that i can't wait to feel the power of my 2.25 twin webber'd petrol four pot power plant.
which leads me to ask does anyone have a spare inlet manifold they want to get rid of? for the correct amount of beer tokens of course

Nice job on the bulkhead!! Here are the piccys of mine I'v been promising.
I'm going to start it up tomorrow for the first time since replacing the rear main oil seal, all of the big end and main bearings and timing chain. Will it start?????? of course it will!!! erm, yes anyway!! Hope so!!

It's 1978. Same age as me:( and my first ever vehicle. There's nothing quite like cruising down country lanes on a hot day with the roof and door tops off and the windscreen down!!And plumes of Black smoke with diesel fumes of course!!

Hows it coming along britaxcooper? done any more to it? I'v re wired the ignition on mine and put the heater motor and matrix in situ on the bulkhead. It's ready for starting this weekend as soon as the radiator is fitted. Heres some more piccys.....
