    P38 key fob help please

These parts are really cheap at main stealer.....worth a visit to them to get it sorted. The ebay bits are sold for more than the dealers sell them for (not often that happens, mind you!)

Vogue tv screen? can you make it digital? How?

Some of the earlier L322s share heritage and ICE / satnav systems with BMW X5s (the E53 model) - there are loads of posts and how-tos re the digital tv installation in X5s, and there are various options on websites like toysinyourcar.com. The digital receivers fitted to BMWs of the same era as...

P38 Winch Mount and fixing kit

The Kuga feels like a Ford Focus ST to drive...responsive and racy...not quite the same as the Rangie or the X5, or indeed the Audi S8!!! A bit outside of my usual comfort zone, but I'm kind of used to it now, as for the winch and a Kuga.....well........ :) The Warn plus mount would probably...

P38 Winch Mount and fixing kit

Hope so, Irish, here's to good luck for a fiery auction......we're fine...I'm still missing the old Rangie but I know the new owner really appreciated her so all my hard work wasn't in vain!! :) I'm trying to have a clear out and found the Winch Mount which has been packed away for years....and...

P38 Winch Mount and fixing kit

I finally found the original Winch Mount and fixing kit I bought for my beloved ex-Rangie P38 in 2004 :):) but never had it fitted........its till wrapped up in the original packaging. I've listed it on ebay - auction 160558574806 - so everyone has a fair chance to buy it as soooo many...

    Power Packs/Engine Starters

Clarke 4000 is a heavy duty power pack which works with big engined petrols and diesels - I've tried a good few of these starter packs over the years, albeit I avoided using them on my P38 as I wasn't keen on frying the BECM....... But for larger cars the Clarke 4000 is a reasonable product...

    RF Receiver......help please!!

Good grief, what next??? What a load of total bull, my now ex-Rangie needed the same RF receiver change and it took me, a "mere woman" all of five minutes to accomplish successfully without any "reprogramming". And I recall a generation of P38 owners who changed their RF receivers very easily...

Range Rover Upgrade To Digital TV

Early L322S share the same tv tuner units as BMW cars of the time, notably X5s......you could check on a site like toysinyourcar.com what units are available for what year. The BMW unit just swops out as plug and play, but the digital unit is very expensive - around £800+ - and very few come up...

    p38 reliability

My P38 Rangie was a diamond - owned her for 6+ years, maintained her very carefully, yes, expesnive things did happen - blend motors, compressor / air bags, the odd electrical thing, but overall reliability in my case was fantastic - just didn't let me down. Sold her, still in excellent...

Not a great day - more new problems than solved ones! Wet footwells - why??

When were pollen filters last changed? If the plastic covers on these aren't 100% they can soak up water and leak like a sieve.....worth checking!! Also the filters themselves can get completely blocked as many people don't remember to change them - its worth looking there.

Luckily there are a few workarounds which are quite well documented on the X Forum.....and if you visit BMW meets there are usually willing folk who will help a damsel in distress :) :)

    cheap tyres look here

Maybe cars choose their owners like for like Datatek :p:p:p I absolutely love my X5, but the Rangie is fondly remembered and will never be forgotten, as I had such a good 'un and I'm really pleased she went to an enthusiast - who knows, maybe he'll post on here sometime, he joined the...

    cheap tyres look here

I guess I could leave, Datatek......but lots of others seem to stay long after their P38s go :D As for supercharged, no thanks, my 4.8is X5 gets 24-30mpg which no supercharged would ever manage and it does it in great comfort :D:D And I have a Kuga joining the fleet next week:cool: Its a...

    cheap tyres look here

Beware with fitting any old tyres to P38s - many absolutely hate it and the ride quality will change to hair-raising / tramlining (severe) and just downright dangerous......The P38 was meant to use Scorpion STs, but these have been out of production for a few years now and the STRs which...

    Sold !

Mine (99MY on a T reg) sold locally on ebay just before Xmas for £4300 + £300 for some bits and pieces for it to the same buyer = £4600. But then it was in exceptional condition with lots of extras and a full service history. Petrol 4.6. I would have liked more as some dealers seem to move real...

    EAS emergency inflation valves

I had a very nice kit fitted years ago, with pressure gauges on each airline, fitted alongside the radiator so easy access - used it once in several years just before changing compressor and air bags and it worked a treat. But it wasnt a cheapo plastic t-bar kit, at the time it was about £150...
