Clarke 4000 is a heavy duty power pack which works with big engined petrols and diesels - I've tried a good few of these starter packs over the years, albeit I avoided using them on my P38 as I wasn't keen on frying the BECM....... But for larger cars the Clarke 4000 is a reasonable product...

Good grief, what next??? What a load of total bull, my now ex-Rangie needed the same RF receiver change and it took me, a "mere woman" all of five minutes to accomplish successfully without any "reprogramming". And I recall a generation of P38 owners who changed their RF receivers very easily...

Early L322S share the same tv tuner units as BMW cars of the time, notably X5s......you could check on a site like toysinyourcar.com what units are available for what year. The BMW unit just swops out as plug and play, but the digital unit is very expensive - around £800+ - and very few come up...

When were pollen filters last changed? If the plastic covers on these aren't 100% they can soak up water and leak like a sieve.....worth checking!! Also the filters themselves can get completely blocked as many people don't remember to change them - its worth looking there.

Luckily there are a few workarounds which are quite well documented on the X Forum.....and if you visit BMW meets there are usually willing folk who will help a damsel in distress :) :)
