BMW td6 engine ! Same as Used in 330, 530, x5 , also before a full strip/rebuild I'd look at a second hand one.

Not an engine expert but surely if it is the little ends either new piston and con rod or even new con rods will be available as these engines are used in loads of vehicles so for me to say it's a new engine I would be after a second opinion from an engine specialist particularly a BMW one...
